About pattern

This pattern is available in Norwegian and English, and contains written text and chart.

The design is called Femgangen, which is Norwegian and refers to the 5 times table.

The sweater is knitted bottom up, and with raglan. Ribbing is used for edges. The fit is meant to be loose. If adjusting the length of the sleeves or body, remember it will affect the amount of yarn, and it will have to be done before the colourwork.

The story about Femgangen

Aud B did inherit yarn from her mother - who almost never knitted. She intended to knit a blanket for her rocking chair. Then she was gifted a knitted blanket from a friend and started to use that one instead immediately.

So, the yarn was not used. Since the blanket would have been made of squares in two colours, the amount of yarn colours was in equal parts. And it was only 300 grams of each colour. Therefore, the sweater could not have stranded colorwork all over. Aud B chose the dice to be the transition between the red and the white and became indeed happy with the result.
